Members Only Come along to our next Members Forum where we will be joined by Jorgen Gullestrup, CEO of the Mental Health Lived Experience Peak Queensland (MHLEPQ). During this forum the conversation will centre around recognising Lived/Living Experience in meetings and events. Jorgen will speak about: Recognition of Lived Experience Creating a safe agenda Acknowledging power difference in the room Clarity on process and outcome Reporting back and transparency ABOUT JORGEN AND MHLEPQ Jorgen Gullestrup is the CEO of the Mental Health Lived Experience Peak Queensland (MHLEPQ). The MHLEPQ was created in Queensland in 2022 to provide collective advocacy and systems advice informed by persons of lived experience of the Queensland mental health system. Jorgen identifies as having lived experience of mental illness and as a suicide survivor. Born in Denmark Jorgen migrated to Australia in 1988 as a plumber. He worked as a construction worker and as a workplace health and safety advisor before becoming an official with the Queensland Plumbers Union in 1994. From 2001 to 2007 he led the Union as State Secretary and National Assistant Secretary.
