Consultation of a New Queensland Women’s Strategy

8 October 2021

Category: Submissions

QAMH contributed to the development of the Queensland Women’s Strategy 2022-27. In our submission we highlighted the particular challenges facing women, who are more likely to experience high to very high levels of psychosocial distress and anxiety compared to their male counterparts. They also have higher prevalence of mental distress, higher levels of pandemic-related job loss and housing insecurity, and increased likelihood of experiencing domestic violence. We therefore called for women’s mental health and wellbeing to be recognised as a key priority area in the strategy.
