Accreditation to the National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards for Community Managed Organisations

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) has developed the National Safety and Quality Mental Health Standards for Community Managed Organisations. In order for these Standards to be useful, meaningful and give the community confidence in our sector, a sufficiently robust accreditation process is necessary. The Commission is designing an accreditation program and seeking feedback into this process.
This submission, which has been informed by our extensive knowledge of the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector in Queensland, will focus on:
- Alignment of Standards
- Guidance material
- Simplifying the exemption process
- Short notice assessments
