In the 2023-2024 financial year QAMH continued its advocacy focus and push for reform with state and federal government. Many of our initiatives also transformed into meaningful action for the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector.

Initiatives included:

  • Collaborating with our Members and advocating on their behalf to reinforce the vital role our sector plays in Queensland’s mental health landscape.
  • Commitment to develop a sector specific Workforce Strategy through consultation with Members and key stakeholders, and the launch of the final draft strategy this year.
  • Wellbeing First Innovation Hub event to showcase 18 months of work on new models of service and campaigns from member participants.
  • Building a mental health workforce through the Mental Health Industry Connector Program and Peer Work Scholarships.
  • Growing the Psychosocial Peak Body connections throughout the Queensland Community.
  • Reference group consultations to consult with people with lived experience on identifying key systemic advocacy priorities.

The 2024 Annual Report acknowledges the strength and expertise of our Members, who play a crucial role in supporting our community and assisting QAMH to push for community mental health reform in Queensland. The report also recognises our Board and team, both past and present, for their valuable contributions to QAMH and the broader Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector.
