QAMH Briefing Sent to Ministers Ahead of June Health Ministers Meeting
Community, Latest news, Policy Updates
In preparation for the upcoming Health Ministers Meeting, QAMH last week dispatched a briefing to all Ministers calling for urgent action to address Queensland’s growing mental health crisis. The document outlines the critical role of the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector in keeping people well and out of hospital and recommends a 50/50 State–Commonwealth funding partnership to close the $511.5 million psychosocial support gap. It presents a clear case for increased investment in community-based supports that are cost-effective, recovery-focused, and capable of relieving pressure on the acute system.
