Momentum Mental Health is a community mental wellbeing organisation that provides one-to-one and group coaching support to people who want to work on their mental health and wellbeing. For 25 years the organisation has focused on delivering services for people with severe and persistent mental illness. From 1 July, the organisation changed name and adjusted the core vision to working with whole community mental wellbeing and mental health. This new focus is a response to identified local needs and strives to flip the way that we respond to mental health and suicide in our region. One major component of this change is that people no longer need a diagnosis to access the services available in our organisation. This is something that sets us apart from others in the industry. We believe, that if someone has the courage to put their hand up and ask for help with their mental health and wellbeing, we want to wholeheartedly welcome them to our service, partner with them to set goals, celebrate when they achieve them and help them move from languishing to flourishing wellbeing. Our organisation has partnered with the Royal Melbourne Hospital to deliver the evidenced based, 5 ways to wellbeing program in the Toowoomba Region. This health literacy program is highly accessible, easy to deliver and works particularly well for diverse communities, workplaces and schools. Our team of Wellbeing Coaches are trained in this program and looking to build community knowledge and understanding of the 5 simple ways anyone can start to improve their wellbeing.
