The Fund Community Mental Health Campaign addresses the need for an additional $150 million recurrent funding to ensure all Queenslanders can access the care that they need within their own communities.

As part of this campaign, QAMH continues to plead and reach out for more people to send the letter to their local MP in support of getting these funds. The media outreach has resulted in several great media exposure since launching the campaign:

ABC News wrote a compelling article highlighting the issue with real-life stories of Queenslanders falling through the cracks of NDIS.

ABC also spoke with QAMH CEO Jennifer Black in an interview on ABC Radio’s Queensland Southern Drive with Annie Gaffney, stressing the lack of psychosocial support and funds the community mental health sector so desperately needs.

Also more local, in the Bundaberg Today, QAMH’s state election campaign efforts are making some headway in the media. View the social media post and article.

The campaign ends on Thursday 19 September 2024, however elections are not until end of October. Until then, we urge you to help keep this topic alive and get many more letters sent to the MPs.
