Recognition of Lived Experience

QAMH staff recognise that if it wasn’t for people of Lived Experience of mental distress and adversity, and their families, carers and support people we would not be here.

For many years people of lived experience have been advocating for changes and improvements to mental health services, and we are grateful for their work and generosity in using their individual and collective expertise. We acknowledge the bravery and courage it takes to speak up and call for change and the valuable knowledge they bring to our work.

In honouring their work and the emerging Peer Workforce in Queensland, we commit to continuing to work with and alongside people of Lived Experience in all we do.
