QAMH welcomes the draft revised Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) for which the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is currently seeking feedback. One of the most persistent problems facing the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector is the lack of available information on workforce numbers, demographics, skill base, educational attainment and geographic distribution. QAMH are therefore pleased to see that the revised ANZSCO includes occupation codes that capture the role of workers within our sector, reflecting recommendations in our previous ANZSCO Comprehensive Review Submission.
In this supplementary feedback, we provide additional comments to refine the proposed occupational coding for our sector to make sure that workforce data is fit for purpose.
