About Us

QAMH is the peak body for the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector in Queensland. We support over 145 Member organisations, advocate for system reform, and champion community-based mental health services.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced CEO to lead the organisation through our next phase of growth, advocacy and sector impact. As CEO, you will implement the Strategic Plan, strengthen key stakeholder relationships, and serve as a trusted voice advocating for mental health reform and improved sector outcomes across Queensland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and organisational leadership.
  • Deliver the Strategic Plan.
  • Build relationships with government, funders, members and sector stakeholders.
  • Advocate for members and influence mental health policy and reform.
  • Raise the organisation’s profile and impact.
About You

You are a strategic and values-driven CEO with a proven ability to lead organisational growth, navigate complex change, and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders to deliver meaningful community impact.

  • Experienced CEO with a demonstrated track record of leading growth, transformation, and organisational success.
  • Background in a nonprofit and/or membership-based organisation, with an understanding of member and community needs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across sectors.
  • Politically astute, highly credible, and capable of navigating complex environments with sound judgement and integrity.
  • Passionate about improving community mental health outcomes and committed to advancing the organisation’s mission and impact.
